María José Garrido holds a Master’s Degree in Forensic Sciences (analysis and investigation of Criminal Behavior) from the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid (UAM).

She is a PhD in Psychology and serves as a professor of the Master’s Degree in Criminal Analysis and Investigation at UDIMA. Additionally, María José Garrido is an expert in Criminology, certified by the Universidad Nacional de Educación a Distancia.

María José Garrido has extensive experience not only at the operational level but also in the academic field. She has conducted important research on gender violence, police intervention with minors, and individuals with mental disorders.

Currently, María José Garrido is a professor at the Centro Superior de Investigaciones de la Defensa Nacional (CESEDEN).

In addition to her academic and operational roles, she is the author of one of the best-selling books in Behavior & Law Ediciones: “Sobre personas y monstruos. Application of psychology to criminal investigation.”
