Biography — Alicia Ramos

Alicia Ramos Maderuelo is Behavioral Economics Senior Manager at BBVA, where she is a senior member of the bank's behavioral economics team — a group recognized for more than a decade of applying behavioral science to banking. Her work centers on how cognitive biases shape financial decisions, both inside companies and in people's everyday money management.

She writes and speaks regularly on the subject, including a BBVA opinion piece on how cognitive biases affect corporate decision-making and a BBVA “Salud Financiera” podcast on lifestyle creep and the mental biases that keep people from saving more as they earn more. She completed a postgraduate program in Behavioral Economics (experimental and applied to business) at the University of Barcelona, with a thesis analyzing the behavioral dynamics of invoice-financing decisions among freelancers and firms.
