Biography

Owen Robertson is a theatre artist, educator, researcher, and social entrepreneur whose career spans more than three decades in performance, directing, creative writing, and communication. Throughout his professional journey, he has combined artistic practice with higher education, leadership development, and the design of innovative learning experiences centered on communication, creativity, and human interaction.

As founder of LAB Theater Project, he has led the development of one of Florida's most active organizations dedicated to emerging playwrights and new theatrical works, creating educational programs that foster creative thinking, collaboration, persuasive communication, and professional development. His work as a playwright, novelist, screenwriter, and educator reflects a sustained commitment to understanding how people communicate, influence others, construct narratives, and build meaningful interpersonal relationships.

Areas of expertise

Mr. Robertson teaches in the Master of Science in Nonverbal & Deceptive Behavior, where he examines interpersonal communication, emotional expression, credibility, behavioral consistency, and the interpretation of verbal and nonverbal signals. He also contributes to the Master of Science in Psychology of Negotiation, focusing on persuasive communication, influence strategies, conflict management, and relationship building in professional environments. His background in social entrepreneurship and organizational leadership also enriches the Master of Science in Sustainability, highlighting the essential role of communication, stakeholder engagement, and behavioral change in advancing sustainable organizations and socially responsible leadership.
