Hennings is a retired U.S. Air Force intelligence officer and special operations professional with more than 25 years of experience in strategic intelligence, irregular warfare, counterterrorism and influence operations. His work examines how individuals, organizations and adversarial networks behave, adapt and make decisions under conditions of uncertainty, risk and strategic competition, and he is faculty in the Crime & Security area at Evidentia University.

Dr. John A. Hennings is a retired U.S. Air Force intelligence officer and special operations professional. He brings more than 25 years of experience in strategic intelligence, irregular warfare, counterterrorism, influence operations, and decision-making in complex security environments. His work focuses on how individuals, organizations, and adversarial networks behave, adapt, and make decisions under conditions of uncertainty, risk, and strategic competition.
His professional career includes designing and teaching advanced special operations programs, interagency planning against adversarial threat networks, and leading intelligence activities supporting joint special operations in combat environments.
His teaching bridges strategic intelligence and behavioral science, providing students with an applied understanding of human behavior in high-stakes environments shaped by conflict, influence, uncertainty, and strategic competition.

At Evidentia University, his expertise strengthens the Master of Science in Behavioral Cybersecurity & Cybercriminology, with a focus on adversarial behavior, influence operations, threat networks, radicalization, and the human dimension of security.
