Description:

This course will cover the main aspects related to the procedure of scientific coding of facial expression of emotions. You will learn the basic principles involving Facial Action Units (AUs) and Facial Action Descriptors (ADs).

You will know the FACS (Facial Action Coding System), which allows coding any visible facial movement and through this coding of facial actions we can, among other things, identify the true emotion that the analyzed individual is feeling by means of micro-expressions.

Objectives:

  • Understand the usefulness of facial coding.
  • Lay the foundations of FACS.
  • Master FACS coding system.

How it works

The student will have a series of video classes where different teachers offer the content of the course. In addition, there will be a series of study and complementary materials for a complete learning.

The student must complete a series of self-assessment questionnaires to evaluate the learning of it.

If the student needs help, she will have the support of a personalized tutor who will solve any question related to learning or the development of the course.

Requirements to Pass the course

To succesfully pass the course, students are required to achieve the following minimum requirements:

  • All questionnaires must be passed.
    (Questionnaires represent 50% of the final score).
  • Final Activity must be passed.
    (Final activity represent 50% of the final score).
  • Final score must be 7/10 (or highter) to get the Certificate of Completion.
