Biography

Dr. Chris Kostov is a researcher and university professor specializing in international governance, emerging technologies, blockchain, and decentralized finance.

His research examines the intersection of digital technologies, geopolitical change, financial innovation, and human behavior, with particular attention to how blockchain ecosystems, decentralized finance, and digital assets reshape governance, trust, regulation, and institutional decision-making. He has authored three books, edited an academic volume, and published numerous peer-reviewed articles and book chapters. His work has been presented at international conferences across Europe and North America, and he serves as a Research and Innovation Evaluator for the European Commission.

Areas of expertise

Dr. Kostov teaches in the Master of Science in Behavioral Cybersecurity & Cybercriminology, where he explores the behavioral dimensions of cybercrime, digital trust, online risk, and emerging technologies. He also contributes to the Master of Science in Anti-Fraud Behavioral Analysis, focusing on cryptocurrency fraud, digital financial crime, and behavioral mechanisms of deception in decentralized environments. His interdisciplinary perspective strengthens the Master of Science in Behavioral Economics through the study of investor psychology, decision-making in highly volatile markets, and behavioral responses to technological disruption. In the Master of Science in Sustainability, he examines the role of blockchain in corporate transparency, supply chain traceability, ESG reporting, and sustainable digital governance, providing students with a comprehensive understanding of how technological innovation influences sustainable economic development.
