Faculty

Cristina Lázaro-Perea

Cristina Lázaro-Perea holds a PhD in Zoology from the University of Wisconsin–Madison and brings a research career in behavioral ecology, primate behavior and animal economics into the Master in Behavioral Economics at Evidentia University. Biography — Cristina Lázaro-Perea

Cristina Lázaro-Perea is faculty in the Master in Behavioral Economics at Evidentia University of Behavioral and Forensic Sciences. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, followed by a Master of Science in Zoology and a PhD in Zoology, both completed at the University of Wisconsin–Madison.

Her academic specialization lies at the intersection of behavioral ecology and behavioral economics, with particular research interest in primate behavior, animal ethology and the comparative analysis of decision-making across species. Her published work spans topics including reward consumption under budget constraints, effort discounting in invertebrates, and metabolic-state-dependent behavioral decisions, integrating ecological field methods with experimental economics paradigms. At Evidentia she contributes a perspective rare in applied behavioral economics teaching: how non-human animals make economic choices, and what that comparative evidence tells us about the evolutionary roots of human decision-making.
