Robert W. Robertson, PhD
Robert W. Robertson is a consultant and educator based in Tampa, Florida, and Senior Research Fellow at the Commonwealth Institute, School of Advanced Studies, University of London. A Fulbright Specialist named by the U.S. Department of State, he brings more than twenty-five years leading organizations in the public sector and academia across several continents.
Biography
Dr. Robert W. Robertson is a consultant and educator living in Tampa, Florida. He currently serves as a Senior Research Fellow at the Commonwealth Institute, School of Advanced Studies, University of London.
He has held a number of senior administrative posts in the education sector, including MBA Director and Vice President of Academic Affairs, community college president and university president. He served as a Visiting Professor of Management (2006-2020) at the University of Ljubljana, Slovenia.
In 2016, Dr. Robertson was named a Fulbright Specialist by the US Department of State, and an International Scholar in 2023 (Emerging Leader in the Americas) by Global Affairs Canada. In 2024 he was named a Principal Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (PFHEA) by Advance HE in the United Kingdom for his strategic, evidence-based sustainable initiatives in education, and in 2025 a Fellow of the City and Guilds of London Institute (FCGI).
He has more than twenty-five years of experience leading and managing organizations in the public sector and in academia in Kazakhstan, Vietnam, the Caribbean, Canada and the United States. During his career he has developed and taught online and on-ground classes at the undergraduate, graduate and doctoral level. Dr. Robertson served as a city planner and a city manager in Canada, and he is an invited speaker at conferences on workforce development, strategic planning, quality and continuous improvement, online education and international business.

In addition, he completed an Executive Certificate in Strategy and Innovation at the Sloan School of Management at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and an Executive Certificate in Negotiation at Harvard University.
