Biography — Wayne Petherick
He is Associate Professor of Criminology in the Faculty of Society and Design at Bond University on Queensland's Gold Coast, Australia, where he teaches Criminal Profiling, Criminal Motivations, Crime and Deviance, Forensic Criminology, Applied Crime Analysis, and Profiling and Crime Analysis at the undergraduate and postgraduate level.
His scholarly output includes more than fifty articles and book chapters in peer-reviewed venues, and three reference textbooks: Profiling and Serial Crime: Theoretical and Practical Issues (ISBN 978-1455731749), Forensic Victimology and Forensic Criminology (co-authored with Brent Turvey and Claire Ferguson, ISBN 978-0123750716). His current research focuses on the use of heuristics in case linkage and on risky online behaviours among children and adolescents. His applied consulting work spans criminal profiling, stalking and bullying cases, homicide and sexual assault investigations, and risk assessments in Australia and abroad. He is a TEDxBondUniversity speaker and a published contributor to The Conversation.
